SUMMARY:Alumni Discussion: AI\, Work & Society – Preparing for Transformative Change
DESCRIPTION:As you know\, Artificial Intelligence is rapidly expanding its role in how we live and work. Organizations are using AI to increase productivity\, accelerate research\, improve decision-making\, and create new products and services. Powerful cognitive tools are now broadly accessible\, reshaping career paths\, organizational design\, education\, and public policy. \nInvestment in AI rivals some of the largest technological efforts in history. While the long-term trajectory remains uncertain\, the direction is clear: AI will meaningfully influence economic opportunity\, labor markets\, and institutional structures in the years ahead. \nThis session is designed as a thoughtful\, peer-level conversation. Rather than focusing on hype or alarm\, we will examine credible scenarios\, and explore the choices in front of us by addressing such questions as: \n–How can individuals use AI to enhance their capabilities and remain adaptable?\n \n–How should organizations rethink talent development and leadership pipelines? \n— What responsibilities do governments and institutions carry in ensuring broad-based prosperity and social cohesion? \nOur goal is not prediction\, but preparation. Through informed discussion\, we will work to identify practical actions at the personal\, organizational\, and societal levels and consider how we\, as leaders\, can help shape a constructive path forward. \nWebinar Information\nDate: Tuesday\, Apr 14th\nTime: 10:00 – 11:30AM ET  \nThis event will be held on Zoom and your webinar link will be sent the morning of the event at 9:00am from events@hbsab.org.  If you do not receive this email\, please contact jason@hbsab.org.  \nPricing Information\nHBS Association of Boston Members – Complimentary\nGeneral Public – $10\nNot a Club Member?  Join today!

SUMMARY:HBSAB Risk Conference | Inside the Cost Crisis in Healthcare
DESCRIPTION:Healthcare spending now exceeds 18% of U.S. GDP—the highest among developed nations—yet outcomes in life expectancy\, chronic disease management\, and avoidable mortality continue to lag our peers. For business leaders responsible for workforce health\, benefits strategy\, and organizational risk\, this isn’t an abstract policy debate. It’s a P&L problem that compounds annually. \nWhy This Discussion Is Different This program is designed to surface nuanced\, real-world perspectives rather than high-level talking points. We have been intentional about assembling senior executives with direct P&L and operational responsibility—leaders whose insights reflect lived experience\, not theory. \nProgram Keynote: Professor Robert Huckman\, Raymond Family Chair and Co-Chair of the HBS Healthcare Initiative\, will open with perspectives on the current state of U.S. healthcare delivery and where operational innovation is gaining traction. \nExecutive Panel: Ranch Kimball\, BCG Partner and Innovation Advisor\, will moderate a conversation with:\n• Patrick Gilligan\, CEO\, Point32 Health (Harvard Pilgrim)\n• Dr. Edwin Huang\, President\, Mount Auburn Hospital\n• Additional panelists to be announced \nThe panel will explore how health systems and payers are balancing cost pressures with access\, quality\, and workforce realities—and where emerging technologies\, including AI\, may offer credible paths to efficiency without compromising care. \nReception & Peer Exchange: Following the keynote speaker\, continue the conversation over food and beverage with fellow executives navigating similar challenges. \nWho Should Attend This event is designed for CEOs\, CFOs\, CHROs\, and board members seeking insight into the forces shaping healthcare costs and risk—whether you’re managing a benefits budget\, evaluating health system partnerships\, or leading an organization within the healthcare ecosystem itself. We welcome HBS alumni and invited guests who share an interest in substantive\, executive-level dialogue. \nEvent Highlights \n\nDate & Time: Tuesday\, April 14\, 2026; 5:00 to 8:30\nLocation: Harvard Business School Campus\nTheme: Inside the Cost Crisis in Healthcare\nKeynote Speakers & Panel\nGain insights from accomplished alumni and industry leaders who have successfully managed risk within the healthcare space\, learning from their experiences and best practices. Professor Robert Huckman of the Harvard Business School and Co-Chair of the HBS Healthcare Initiative will give a keynote address on the Current State of the US Healthcare – Is Help on the Way”.  Ranch Kimball\, BCG Partner and Innovation advisor will moderate a panel featuring CEOs and senior executives from hospitals\, insurers\, government and pharma/device companies to learn how these organizations are navigating the risk environment in this changing healthcare environment.\nInteractive Sessions\nParticipate in our panel discussions designed to provide attendees with practical tools for assessing\, mitigating\, and leveraging risk.\nFood and Beverage\nNetworking Opportunities\nConnect with fellow alumni and professionals from diverse industries in a collaborative environment that fosters learning\, innovation\, and future partnerships.\n\nPricing Information\nWe expect this event to sell out so please register early. \nClub Members | $35\nChair’s Club Guest | $35 (max 1)\nMember Guest | $45\nGeneral Public – $55\nChair’s and President’s Club members are initially charged the normal event fees at time of registration and will only receive a full and 50% refund respectively if they attend the event.
